(Atlantic) Atlantic put together solid pitching and hitting and topped Carroll Tuesday night, 15-3 at Carroll.
Wyatt Redinbaugh turned in another solid outing on the hill for the Trojans. The junior pitched all six innings, threw 73 pitches allowed three earned runs.
The Trojans scored 15 runs on thirteen hits. Bodie Johnson went 3-4 and drove in three runs at the plate to lead the offense. Grant Sturm went 2-3, Gunner Kirchhoff belted a three-RBI double, ended the night with four runs batted in, and Brendan Atkinson added a double.
“It was a great performance by the kids,” said Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer. “I am extremely proud of our effort tonight.”
The Trojans plated four runs in the second and circled the bases seven more times in the top of the fourth inning to open up an 11-0 lead. Carroll responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Trojans answered right back with four more runs in the sixth and shut down the Tigers in the bottom of the sixth to end the game early.
Atlantic now 12-12 host 23-1 Tri-Center on Wednesday and play host to Panorama on Thursday.
