(Atlantic) One year ago, COVID-19 shut down nearly all social events, and the permissible events were mitigated to low capacity and social distancing. Because of this, the Atlantic Class of 2010 postponed their 10-year reunion, and they’re trying again this summer.
Class member Palmer Hoegh is getting the word out to her classmates.“We hope to get as many people there as possible,” said Hoegh. “I realize not everyone is on Facebook. and I want to give everyone the opportunity to join in.”
Hoegh is helping set a date for the 11-year high school reunion and is looking for input from class members to determine a date for this summer’s event. Hoegh invites the Atlantic Class of 2010 to join in on a Facebook poll on the class of 2010’s group page. “There is some sadness because a couple of our classmate’s health is still compromised and not able to attend,” said Hoegh. “We’re going to miss them, and are trying to do this as safely as we can. The event is outside at Sunnyside Park, and hopefully, people will be safe, and many of us are vaccinated. I’m glad we get a chance to do this.”
Graduates are asked to the Facebook group page by July 11 and voted on the following dates; August 7th, 14th, or the 21st.
Those graduates not on Facebook can call or text Palmer Hoegh at 712-249-8904 or email: palmerhoegh@gmail.com.
