(Atlantic) Atlantic Community School students and staff return to school this week under new language regarding the district’s face-covering policy.
On October 22, the school board approved a 30-day temporary mask mandate requiring face coverings when impossible to social distance. The Board of Education extended the mandate again on November 18, December 9, December 16, and January 13. The School board voted 4-1 at the March 10 meeting to go back to the original language on April 5.
The language states masks are encouraged for the K-5 students when social distance is impossible and expected for students in grades 6th through 12th, when unable to social distance.
