(Adair) Adair County Conservation Director Dominic Johnson provided the Board of Supervisors with several updates this week.
Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg says Johnson spoke about the activities his department has been doing. “They have made some changes to their camping rates this year. For Lake Orient they are charging $20 per night. For Mormon Trail they are currently charging $8 for tent camping and $12 for electric camping.”
Berg says once the restroom project is complete at Mormon Trail rates will increase to $15 for tents and $20 for electric. “They are awarding the bid to Caliber Concrete contingent to signing the contract and that was for $217,318. They plan on the work being started right away and can expect the building to be delivered in June. He’s hoping that project will get on its way and wrap up by the end of summer.”
The Conservation Department is hiring an AmeriCorp Worker for the summer months. “They did this last year and they help with a lot of camps for the kids and other Conservation needs.”
Berg says a new kiosk has been put up at Lake Orient.
