(Glenwood) Mills County experienced a significant uptick in positive cases, with 39 new positive COVID-19 cases over the past seven days.
According to the Mills County Public Health Department, contraction of the Coronavirus, this week was a mixture of known contact and community spread. Three of the cases were age group five (5) cases in 0-18, 19 cases in 19-40, ten (10) cases in the 41-60 age group, three (3) in the 61-80 age group, and two (2) cases in the 81+.
Mills County Public Health Officials remind residents of the changes that went into effect late last month. Persons in close contact with – are all wearing a mask correctly, close contact risk is mitigated to the point where they will not have to quarantine. Wear your mask whenever you might be within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes of anyone outside of those you live with. Contact tracing is key to slowing the spread of COVID-19 and helps protect you, your family, and the community.
Those who test positive for COVID-19 can expect to receive a call from a Public Health Contact Tracer who will ask about symptoms and general health, discuss anyone you may have had extended contact with, and where you spent time while capable of spreading the virus. Mills County will continue to release these numbers weekly.
