(Anita) CAM and Lenox square off in a game of undefeated teams on Friday night at Lenox. The Tigers have outscored the competition 54-11, and CAM has outscored their opponents, 54-10. Both teams have solid running games pointing towards a hard-fought battle in the trenches.
Cougar Head Coach Barry Bower realizes the importance of this game, but at the same time, they aren’t straying from their focus of taking one game at a time.
CAM’s running game has been unstoppable up to this point. The Cougars have rushed for 1,225 yards and 22 touchdowns, led by Lane Spieker’s, who has 56-carries for 706 yards. The Lenox defense could test the Cougar’s ground attack on Friday night.
Bower admits they faced their first big test last week in a 42-24 win over East Mills.
Bower says winning the battle on the front lines will be a critical factor in this one. He touts the Tiger’s offensive and defensive lineman as fundamentally sound, with a great understanding of the system.
The Tigers have rushed for 1,151 yards in four games this season and passed for another 605. Isaac Grundman and Peyton Parrish lead the team in rushing with 296 and 279 yards, respectively. Lenox senior quarterback Cullen Wood is 23/29, passing for 592 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions.
