(Undated) — September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
A new survey shows just 20 percent of men know that drinking milk and other dairy products can increase the risk of prostate cancer. Morning Consult for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine did the survey of more than 11-hundred men. About two thirds of respondents say they would consider avoiding dairy after hearing that.
Several studies also show plant based diets lower the risk of prostate cancer.
The American Cancer Society says about one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
