(Neola, IA) — Tri Center Football will have a new Head Coach this fall — their third in three years — former assistant Jake Gentile (Jen-till-ee) who was with the team for one year in 2017 has returned to take over for Steve Pederson who had to step down. Gentile is from Council Bluffs; went to St. Albert and then South Dakota St. where he played safety for the Jackrabbits and graduated in 2014. After one year with the Trojans, he coached at his alma mater for five years and then went across the river to Bellevue West for three years. He jumped at the opportunity to coach Tri Center
Gentile embraces coaching in a small town. He has learned as an assistant coach that every kid on the team is different and he will have to make adjustments accordingly
Gentile hopes to make things tough but fun for the Trojan players and staff — he will look at everything from what the product looks like on the field to getting new uniforms
Tri Center will open practice on Monday — their first game will be at Gentile’s alma mater St. Albert on August 28.
