Tyrus Hall got the go ahead 2 RBI single in the bottom of the 8th to put the Mountaineers ahead for good
Game 2: #5 UNC 6, Ole Miss 2
Jason DeCaro for the Tar Heels threw 6 2/3 IP and allowed just 2 ER on 5 hits to get the win. Owen Hull hit a solo HR for North Carolina
Saturday, June 13
Game 3: Oklahoma 9, Alabama 0
Sooners Cord Rager allows just three hits in 7 innings and strikes out 8 — he becomes the first freshman to throw four no hit innings at the College World Series; Deiten Lachance hit a 2 run HR
Game 4: #3 Georgia 7, #6 Texas 1
Joey Volchko throws a complete game for the Bulldogs, allowing one unearned run on 4 hits, walked one and struck out 15. Volchko is tied for 8th for K’s in a World Series game. Ryan Lujo hit a 2 run HR in the first inning for the Dawgs.
Sunday, June 14
Game 5: Troy 12, Ole Miss 8
The Trojans eliminated the Rebels — trailing 6-2, Troy scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th and 4 runs in the top of the 7th. Jimmy Janicki tied the game at 6-6 with a solo HR and Jabe Boroff hit a go ahead 2 run double.
Game 6: #5 North Carolina 5, #16 West Virginia 2
The Tar Heels broke a 2-2 with three runs in the bottom of the 7th — Gavin Gallaher hit a go ahead 2 run triple.
Monday, June 15
Game 7: #6 Texas 14, #7 Alabama 2
Adrian Rodriquez and Anthony Pack Jr. each hit 2 run HRs for the Longhorns to eliminate their SEC rivals. Texas scored 3 runs in the first and 4 in the 2nd to build a 7-1 lead.
Game 8: Oklahoma 4, #3 Georgia 3
The Sooners scored three runs in the bottom of the first — Xander Mercurius went 7 1/3 innings and allowed 3 ER on 6 hits, walked 2 and struck out 9 as OU remains in the winners bracket.
