(Manilla, Iowa) The Denison Volunteer Fire Department was called out on mutual aid by the Manilla Volunteer Fire Department at 3:13 p.m. to assist with an emergency at Manilla’s 100-foot tower.
According to the Denison Fire Department’s Facebook Page, upon arrival, with wind gusts exceeding 35 mph, fire crews discussed alternative measures at the location of the town’s water tower, where an unknown male had climbed to the top. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the man safely climbed down, bringing relief to his family.
