(Fort Dodge, IA) — Chariton charged their way to a 2A Boys State Cross Country title on Friday with a dominating victory — the Chargers had 42 points well ahead of 2nd place Forest City with 110. Oelwein finished 3rd with 130.
Red Oak was 7th in the team standings with 193 points but Junior Emmanuel Grass got on the deck finishing in 6th place with a time of 16:27.7. Hayden Heitbrink just missed all state finishing in 16th at 16:50.1 — he was about 5 1/2 seconds behind 15th.
Mason Sells of Shenandoah was 20th (17:10.3) and Carter Buttry of Shenandoah was 50th (17:33.6).
Emerson Vokes of Grundy Center repeated as the State Champ at 15:42.0.
