(Fort Dodge, IA) — Treynor was ranked #3 in the state but they took the 2A state title on Friday in Fort Dodge. The Cardinals finished with 121 points ahead of Waukon with 136 and Orange City Unity Christian was third at 138. Top ranked West Marshall was 4th at 4th at 151. Van Meter finished 6th with 168 points.
Freshman Lilly Miller earned all state honors in 14th place (19:53.1). Sophomore Madalyn Kerkmann was 25th, Senior Lilly Yochum 50th, Senior Madaline Knispel 51st, Junior Anne Miller 52nd.
Ava O’Rourke of Shenandoah was 36th (20:45.6) and Lilly Mather of Shenandoah finished 40th (20:50.3)
McKenna Montgomery of Albia was the 2A girls champ at 18:20.7. Laura Streck of Van Meter missed getting on the deck in the top 15 by a half a second.
