(Red Oak) Two people were taken into custody on Tuesday in connection with the theft of lottery tickets in Montgomery County.
An investigation by Iowa lottery authorities and the Red Oak Police Department uncovered over 500 lottery ticket thefts and approximately $1,600 in profit from the tickets.
The investigation led to the arrest of 22-year-old Jessica Andrea Nunez and 21-year-old Kaleb Rylie Toepher, both from Red Oak.
Nunez is charged with two counts of 2nd-degree theft and two counts of lottery ticket theft. Police transported Nunez to the Montgomery County Jail and held her on a $5,000 bond.
Kaleb Toepher faces charges of accessory after the fact, of stealing lottery tickets, and 2nd-degree theft for the money received from the theft of the stolen tickets. Toepher was held on a $5,000 bond.
