(Sioux City) Bishop Heelan Head Coach Jon LaFleur is proud of how his team navigated a strict regular-season schedule. The Crusaders’ only non-district loss was against cross-town rival Sioux East.
Bishop-Heelan (7-2) swept the table all the way to the final district game against Algona, and fell short 21-13. Coach LaFleur says on the positive side, it allowed them to look at some things they need to improve on before facing a good Atlantic team.
Ethan McNeal is second in Class 3A in all-purpose yards with 1,491, and fourth in rushing with 1,251 yards. McNeal leads the class in carries with 187. Bishop Heelan running back Kasen Thomas is seventh in Class 3A, with 1,076 rushing yards, and leads the class in rushing touchdowns with 19.
Coach LaFleur says the game will come down to penalties and turnovers.
