(Treynor, IA) — Treynor got a 49-7 win against Ogden in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs on Friday. Head Coach Jeff Casey says it was a game where he was able to bring the subs onto the field in the 4th quarter which he does not expect going forward. Ethan Hill was 12 of 18 passing for 158 yards and 2 TD. Jett Sornson had 12 carries for 131 yards and a TD. The Cardinals had 7 different players get into the end zone. Casey says there were big time contributors on both sides of the ball
The Cardinals Defense had 13 tackles for a loss led by Senior Keatyn Dirks with 3; Sophomore Will Sadt and Senior Dane Guttau each had 2.5
Treynor is now 8-1 on the season and Casey says they still have have not played their best football game this season
Treynor will host 6-3 Hinton the 2nd round this Friday — the Blackhawks beat Emmetsburg 34-28 in the Class 1A first round.
