(Missouri Valley, IA) — In a final cross country meet before the state qualifier, Riverside Boys dominated at Missouri Valley while AHSTW edged the Lady Reds in the girls team competition. The Lady Vikes had 68 points with Missouri Valley with 70 and IKM Manning was in a close 3rd with 72.
In the girls race, Allysen Johnsen of Logan Magnolia was the winner at 20:50.3. Heartland Christian runners finished 2nd and 3rd with Keira Diehm and Ava Steinmetz respectively. Audri Forbus of Mo Valley was 4th and Jordyn Robbins of Lo Ma was 5th.
The Lady Vikes were led by Ava Paulsen in 6th (23:05.3); Tayli Lawler 12th; Yana Lander 14th; McKenzi Behrens 26th; and Emery Brockhoff 28th. Reagan Cogdill of Woodbine was 9th and Bailey Richardson of Riverside finished 11th.
On the boys side, Riverside dominated with 5 runners in the top 6 and had 18 points — well ahead of 2nd place IKM Manning with 67. The finish was very close as Dawson Henderson edged teammate Owen Fenner by about a half a second — Henderson 16:57.3 and Fenner 16:57.9. Brody Henderson was 4th; Cruz Jaquez 5th and Eli Hudnall 6th. James McCready finished in 11th for the Bulldogs who is ranked #1 in Class 1A cross country.
Woodbine’s Aiden Summerfield was able to crack the top 5 in between the Riverside runners in 3rd place. Owen Cogdill of Boyer Valley was 7th. Jacob Sporrer of Logan Magnolia finished 8th. Camden Morris of IKM Manning 12th. Ty Nelson of AHSTW 15th. Brayden Lockwood of Griswold 18th.
