(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley boys cross country team won the Pride of Iowa Conference Meet on Tuesday and the Wolverines Gabe Winkelmann was the conference champ. The sophomore ran his home course at 17:29.24 and won by just over 23 seconds over Isiah Wheeldon of Martensdale St. Mary’s. Beau Waugh of Central Decatur was 3rd; Brock Driskill of East Union 4th and Luke Kading of Nodaway Valley was 5th. Paul Kading of Nodaway Valley finished 6th.
The Wolverines had 26 team points with Central Decatur 2nd with 66. Southwest Valley was 5th out of 6 teams and Akhdar Anis of the Timberwolves finished 12th.
There were only three teams that qualified for the girls standings — Martensdale St. Mary’s won with the top two finishers Karson Oberender (19:24.28) and Maclaine German (20:05.22). Addison Junker of Lenox was 4th; Abby Nelson of Nodaway Valley finished 9th. MSM had 23 team points with Wayne 2nd with 46 and Central Decatur 3rd with 61.
