(Villisca) On Monday evening at around 9:26 p.m., the Villisca Fire Department and Clarinda Fire Department were dispatched to 3050 130th Lane for a reported structure fire. The occupants had evacuated the building. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered moderate smoke coming from the basement. They located an electrical panel that had caught fire due to an electrical overload. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the fire crews used positive-pressure fans to clear any remaining smoke from the residence. The Rural Electric Company was contacted to respond. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the damage was confined to the electrical panel.
