(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County has joined with other Iowa counties against the consolidation of the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline project.
Summit Carbon Solutions is under new ownership and is trying a different tactic at pushing through its CO2 pipeline. At Tuesday’s Guthrie County Supervisors meeting, county resident Darlene Cartlow who says her land would be affected by the project if completed expressed her frustrations with Summit
Counties are drafting resistance to the actions by Summit Carbon Solutions and County Attorney Dana Minteer told the supervisors they have until October 13th to submit such a draft. The Supervisors voted 4-1 to proceed with such a draft with Brian Johnson voting against the measure.
In other news, the Supervisors approved a call for a special election for Diamondhead Lake and Lake Panorama Improvement Zone for December 9th.
