(Atlantic, IA) — The Cass County Supervisors will continue to debate on Tuesday about a new tenant for the building at Willow Heights. Supervisor Steve Baier says they have a new organization that is willing to sign a lease for the facility and they would use it as a new center for the treatment of mental health disorders. Baier said the facility would initially be used for men but eventually would be for men and women. Baier says they have been seeking a new tenant for quite awhile
Baier says the earliest that the new tenant would sign a lease would be November and would take them 1-2 months to get the building ready to open. Baier says there could be a vote to approve the lease at Tuesday’s meeting but it is not guaranteed
Baier emphasizes that the facility would house voluntary patients and the building has always been used to work with mental health patients
Baier would not reveal the companies name that would go on the lease but says it is a company with a long term track record of success in the mental health industry. The Cass County Supervisors will meet Tuesday at 9 am.
