(Anita, IA) — Audubon is the clear leader in 8 Man District 9 but 2nd place is still up for grabs. Coon Rapids Bayard and CAM both have one loss in the district — CRB’s loss is to CAM while the Cougars lost to the Wheelers. Exira EHK has 2 losses but they can get back into the race by spoiling CAM’s Homecoming game today.
The Spartans are coming off their best game of the season — a 70-32 win over Griswold to celebrate their Homecoming. Exira EHK made some changes on offense with Josten Kilworth lining up at QB and Bryce Brabham playing a wing slash receiver and going in motion a lot. CAM Head Coach Nick Kauffman says they will have to be ready for whatever they line up those two players
Kilworth is the Spartans leader on defense with 38.5 tackles, 27 solo and 10 TFLs plus has 2 forced fumbles. His assignment tonight might be to shadow CAM’s Collin Bower all night long — the two players might become quite acquainted. Kauffman says they will have to find a way to identify where he is at all times
One big area for CAM this week is to prepare for the game despite the Homecoming distractions. Exira EHK overcame their Homecoming activities to beat the Tigers and Head Coach Drew Buckholdt liked the team’s preperations
Buckholdt knows he is going up against a physical and athletic CAM team
Buckholdt believes that the battle up front is up for grabs and the Spartans just need to get tough
Exira EHK is 2-3, CAM is 3-2
