The Atlantic volleyball team rolled to a straight-set victory over Harlan—25-15, 25-16, 25-18—Thursday night in a Hawkeye Ten Conference matchup at home.
Head Coach Alyssa Boltz said her message to the team before the match was clear: “Come out and play your game.”
Harlan jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the opening set, but Atlantic quickly responded. A dominant 8-0 run gave the Trojans a 17-8 advantage. Reese Harlan sparked the momentum swing with a string of ace serves.
Coach Boltz praised the strong defensive effort, particularly from back row players Claire Schroder and Taylee Hagen, as well as several hustle plays that kept points alive.
The second set mirrored the first, staying close early before Atlantic pulled away with a 10-4 run to take control and close it out 25-16. The third set proved more competitive, but the Trojans held off the Cyclones for a 25-18 win to complete the sweep.
With the victory, Atlantic improves to 13-10 overall and 3-6 in conference play. Harlan drops to 14-16 overall and 2-5 in the Hawkeye Ten.
