(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley Volleyball will have a tough challenge tonight as they face the two best teams int the Pride of Iowa Conference Mount Ayr and Southeast Warren.
The Wolverines are currently 9-16 and 2-4 in the conference but this was a team that went 0-34 a year ago. Head Coach Allison Kiburz came back to coach the volleyball team after a few years off and she had new players come back to the team, new players from the defunct Orient-Macksburg district join the team and players returning and she says they have worked well together
On offense, Senior Emma Boswell is one of the former O-M players and she leads Nodaway Valley with 125 kills. Kiburz says she has power
Senior Kylie Nelson has 78 kills and leads the team with 25 blocks; Sophomore Mattison Thompson has 259 assists; Junior Allie Cornelison is the libero with 214 digs. Mount Ayr and Southeast Warren are both 6-0 in the Pride of Iowa — the Raiders are 21-9 and the Warhawks are 27-3. Nodaway Valley will be the underdog tonight but Kiburz says that is not a bad thing
The triangular will be in Liberty Center hosted by Southeast Warren
