(Anita, IA) — CAM’s volleyball team has overcome a tough start to win three matches in a row. The Cougars went 0-6 at the AHSTW tournament to start the season and then lost to a solid Southwest Valley team to lose their first 7 matches. Next up was Harlan and CAM pulled out a dramatic 5 set win and Head Coach Hilary Zimmerline says the team persevered
In the Cass County Showdown, CAM beat Griswold but lost to Atlantic; then there was a sweep against Ar-We-Va and then the Cougars won another 5 setter this time over Glidden Ralston in their last match last Thursday. Since then, Zimmerline has welcomed back Junior Libero Kylee Williamson to the line up who essentially is the team’s floor general
CAM does not have one dominant offensive hitter — Junior Ruthie Rich has 49 kills, Senior Krista James had 47 kills and Junior Ada Hansen has 45 kills and the setter Junior Courtney Follman has 31 kills and 126 assists. Zimmerline sees this as an advantage and gives the team options
Next up for 4-8 CAM, they visit 8-13 Woodbine on Thursday night.
