(Avoca, IA) — Logan Magnolia overcame a first set loss and rallied to beat AHSTW in three for their first Western Iowa Conference win on Tuesday night.
The Panthers out served the Lady Vikes with 15 aces to win 22-25, 25-8, 25-14, 25-21.
The first set was close the first half — AHSTW trailing 14-13 rattled off 5 points on serve to take an 18-14 lead. Hadley Fetter got back to back aces for the Panthers to cut it to 22-23 but a Lady Vikes side out and a Reese Knop ace ended the first set.
The Panthers got back to back aces from Bella Klutts early in the 2nd set and that set the tone — the Panthers led 9-3, 15-4, and 20-5 before closing it out.
Lo Ma had a 11-8 lead in the 3rd set, got a side out and Klutts served 6 straight points to lead 18-8 and took the lead in the match.
With their backs against the wall, AHSTW took a 7-3 lead in the 4th set but the Panthers won 7 of the next 9 points to lead 10-9. With a 13-12 lead, a side out led to another run building a 17-12 lead and never looked back from there.
