(Elk Horn, IA) — Its Homecoming week at Exira EHK — two members on the Homecoming Court also are key members of the football team.
Bryce Brabham is the quarterback for the Spartans while Josten Kilworth is the tight end. Kilworth was the QB to start last season but Head Coach Drew Buckholdt moved Brabham to the position and Kilworth became his right hand man. The boys did not let a football position get in the middle of their friendship.
So far this season, Brabham leads the team in rushing with 664 yards and 12 TD. Kilworth has 9 receptions for 278 yards and 2 scores and leads the defense with 32.5 tackles and 6 TFLs.
Brabham says the two have been good friends since they were young — besides football they have gone on vacation with the other’s families and have developed a strong bond
Kilworth says he and Bryce have a lot of the same interests and the mesh together on the football field
Exira EHK Head Coach Drew Buckholdt says that when you have two players like Brabham and Kilworth, they set an example for the rest of the team and they do things that cannot be taught
Exira EHK will host Griswold this Friday, coverage on KSOM. The Homecoming interviews for Exira EHK will air on Wednesday on KSOM.
