(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors this morning approved an extension of the Interim Engineer 28E Agreement with Mills County.

The county has been without a full-time engineer since late May, when the supervisors voted 3 to 2 to terminate the contract of John Rasmussen. The assistant engineer was appointed as interim but he resigned on August 5th. In late August, the board approved the 28E Agreement with Mills County to provide interim engineering services.
Today, the Supervisors approved a motion to offer the County Engineer position to a candidate who was interviewed on Friday. If the candidate accepts the position, a contract will be placed on the agenda.
