(Hamlin) Audubon Fire Chief Tyler Thygesen released more information on the Machine shed fire on Monday afternoon in Audubon County.
Chief Thygesen says at 2:47 p.m. Audubon Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 2513 Jay Avenue. The first unit arrived on scene at 3:01 p.m. to find a large machine shed with several pieces of equipment fully involved. Due to the size of the fire, mutual aid was requested from the Brayton Fire Department, Exira Fire & Rescue; and the Kimballton Fire Department. Crews worked together to bring the fire under control by 4:25 p.m. The final fire unit cleared the scene at 5:46 p.m.
Thygesen says the north half of the structure sustained a total loss.
Fortunately, there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. No further information is available at this time. Updates will be provided as the investigation
continues.
