(Adams County) — On Thursday evening at approximately 9:19 p.m., the Villisca Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Highway 34 and Cherry Avenue in Adams County for a report of a hay baler on fire.
Villisca Fire Chief John Bruce says fire crews arrived to find a John Deere hay baler burning in a field with a tractor still attached. Firefighters were able to disconnect the tractor, which appeared undamaged. The baler, however, was declared a total loss. The dollar amount of the damage is not yet known.
No injuries were reported.
Assisting at the scene were Montgomery County Communications, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Corning Fire Department, Adams County Ambulance, and Adams County Communications.
