(Washington, D.C.) Representative Zach Nunn, of Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, is honoring the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
On September 11, 2001, the United States was struck by the deadliest terrorist attack in its history. Al-Qaeda hijackers seized four passenger planes. Two were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing their collapse. A third hit the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the fourth, United Flight 93, crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers tried to overpower the hijackers. Nearly 3,000 people were killed.
Zach Nunn said there is always more that can be done, but regarding 9/11, they are leading bills to recognize both those who ran toward danger on that day and those who continue to face danger every day, including volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders.
Zach Nunn said they are not only helping first responders, law enforcement, and military troops, but also paying tribute to what 9/11—more than two decades later—still means for being an American and serving our country.
