(NAFB) All eyes are on the New World Screwworm in the cattle industry and the outbreak that is going on in Mexico, and there is growing concern that illegal cattle trafficking may be to blame. R-CALF United Stockgrowers of America CEO Bill Bullard shares his thoughts on the issue and what it means for the livestock industry.
Bullard says the outbreak underscores R-CALF USA concerns with the electronic ID mandate, stressing it’s not a foolproof system. He says the only way to eliminate the New World Screwworm is through a coordinated effort focused on proven solutions that stop the spread of its source.
