(Creston) A Fremont County man suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Union County early this morning.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 12:28 a.m. on Highway 34. Authorities say 18-year-old Hayden Douglas Thompson told deputies he did not remember anything about the accident, and only remembers waking up in the overturned vehicle. EMS Ground transported Thompson to the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.
According to the report, Thompson was driving a 2002 Suzuki GVT northbound on Highway 34 when the vehicle went onto the east shoulder. Thompson turned left, moving to the west shoulder, and continued down the west ditch, and overturned.
The report stated Thompson contributed to the crash by failing to maintain control.
