(Clive, Iowa) The Iowa Lottery announced that two Powerball tickets sold in Iowa each won $50,000 during Saturday night’s drawing.
The winning tickets were purchased at a Circle K in Burlington and a Maverik in Coralville. Additionally, a third $50,000 prize from the Double Play drawing was won with a ticket sold at Jimmy D’s in Hawkeye.
In a significant turn of events, a nearly $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot finally produced winners during Saturday night’s draw, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The jackpot winners are from Texas and Missouri, and they will split the $1.787 billion jackpot. Winners can choose to claim their portion of the jackpot in one of two ways: an annuitized prize of $893.5 million, paid out over 30 installments over a 29-year period, or a one-time lump-sum payment of $410.3 million.
