After the first week of games, there is not a lot of movement in the Radio Iowa High School Football poll. All the #1 ranked teams won so they stay put. In 5A, Dowling was #3 and lost to #1 Valley so the Maroons fall to #5. In 4A, Lewis Central was ranked #6 but lost their opener to North Polk so they fall out of the top ten.
In Class 3A, Harlan lost to Underwood so the Cyclones fall out of the top ten while the Eagles move up two spots from #8 to #6 in Class 1A.
In Class 2A, Central Lyon lost to 3A #7 MOC Floyd Valley and the Lions fell from #2 to #5. Van Meter was upset by Des Moines Christian 29-21 and the Bulldogs fall from #3 to #8.
Tri Center stayed at #5 in Class 1A and will face OABCIG who is #2 in 2A this Friday, coverage on KSOM.
One of the strangest moves of the week was Treynor after beating Riverside 42-8 actually moved down in the rankings from #7 to #8 in Class 1A. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, went from #4 in Class A to out of the rankings.
AC/GC moved up in Class A from #8 to #5.
Finally in 8 man, Audubon was not in the pre-season top 10 but is in the rankings this week at #7.
