(Glenwood) – The Harlan girls’ cross-country team claimed the team title at the Glenwood Invitational on Saturday morning, placing two runners in the top five and five in the top twenty to finish with a winning score of 50 points. Ashlyn Rau led the Cyclones with a fourth-place overall finish, followed by Julia Heslink in sixth. Allie Anderson (14th) and Aspen Bieker (15th), Ava Fruend, 21st, Josie Sonderman, 22nd, and Sadie Alberti, 32nd.
Lewis Central claimed second place at the Glenwood Invitational with a team score of 67 points. The Titans were led by Madelyn Hoss, who finished third overall, and Delayna Reese in fifth. Kate Strohmeier (23rd), Mallory Bach (24th), Sophia Mescher, 26th, Eden Kathol, 53rd, and Sydney Skokan (56th).
Host school Glenwood took third in the team standings with 77 points. Grace Berglund led the Rams with a runner-up finish, followed by Megan Hughes (13th), Caitlin Hebel (17th), Katelyn Harms (28th), Breelyn Houser (31st), Haylee Hughes (34th), and Maggie McChesney, 36th.
Atlantic senior Katrina Williams lived up to her preseason expectations, earning a top-10 finish by placing eighth overall. The Trojans took fourth in the team race with 95 points, with Kaitlyn Hickman (16th), Gabrielle Engler (18th), Bella Brock (33rd), Ximena Mendez Cordero, 35th, Alika Anderson (39th), and Ella Brummer, 59th.
Lili Denton of St. Albert captured the individual title, crossing the finish line in 17:09.62.
