(Creston) Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Creston Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Creston Police Department, the crash happened around 12:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Osage Street. Authorities said a 1990 Peterbilt semi, driven by 65-year-old David Travis of Creston, was leaving the co-op parking lot and attempting to turn north onto Osage Street when it collided with a southbound 2025 Ford Explorer.
Travis told police he looked for traffic before entering the roadway but did not see the SUV, driven by 51-year-old Lorraine Murphy of Creston, until it was too late. The semi’s front bumper struck the passenger side of the Explorer, causing the vehicle’s front and side airbags to deploy.
Murphy complained of pain and was transported by Medic-1 to Greater Regional Medical Center. Her passenger, 77-year-old Sharon Cooper of Creston, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
