(Greenfield, IA) — Last season will extremely difficult for Nodaway Valley volleyball — there were zero wins but help is on the way. Head Coach Allison Kiburz is back on the bench since the 2021 season and that was the last time the Wolverines were in double figures in wins. They won 20 games in 2019, 23 in 2020 and 15 in Kiburz’s last season. They have won a combined 17 the last three seasons.
Not only is Kiburz back but Nodaway Valley has an influx of new talent she says
From Orient Macksburg, Senior Emma Boswell will be on the outside, Sophomore Mattison Thompson will be a setter and Sophomore Ella Boswell can play a number of different positions. The two players back from injury are Junior Addison Herr (Hair) who will be a outside hitter and Senior Caroline Britten will provide depth. Kirburz is excited also about some seniors who have come out for volleyball this year
In terms of returners, Senior Izzy Eisbach led the team in kills last year but only with 57. Sophomore Taylor Laughery and Senior Kylie Nelson will be middle hitters and Junior Adelaide Livingston will be a setter. Kiburz says there is a reason for optimism and is excited to be back with the team
Nodaway Valley will host Atlantic in their opener tomorrow.
