(Atlantic) Atlantic senior quarterback and Captain Zayden Parker has a new outlook on the season after missing all of last season with an injury.
Zayden Parker started as a sophomore and threw for 798 yards, completing 61 of 134 passes, and nine touchdowns.
Parker met with the media on Thursday evening at the Trojans’ annual football media day.
Parker says practice has gone well, and the intensity is high.
Senior Captain, and South Dakota State Commit Gavin McLaren returns at fullback following a 2024 campaign where he rushed for 795 yards, on 94 carries, averaged 8.r yards per tote, and scored 13 touchdowns.
McLaren noted that everyone has bought in, as evidenced by the high attendance in the weight room this summer.
McLaren says Parker’s return adds another wrinkle to a run-dominated offense from one year ago. The Trojans rushed for 3,189 yards and averaged 7.5 yards per carry.
We will hear from senior captains Colin Rudy and Brock Goodrich tomorrow.
Atlantic opens the season at home against Glenwood. The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. We will have the broadcast on 95.7 F.M., and live-video-streamed on westerniowatoday.com.
