(Avoca, IA) — 2024 was a revolving door for the head coach of the AHSTW football team. G.G. Harris resigned mid-season and Athletic Director Jason Holst took over in the interim. So when it came to hiring a new coach for this season, the Vikings turned to their principal Davis Pattee to come back into the coaching ranks.
Pattee was the head coach for AHSTW for seven seasons from 2013-2019, guiding the team to seven playoff seasons including a state runner up finish in 2019 and a 61-17 overall record. He left Avoca to become Athletic Director at Harlan but returned to become the AHSTW principal in 2023.
