(Atlantic) St. Albert edged Atlantic 5-4 in the Hawkeye Ten Conference girls’ Tennis on Friday in Atlantic.
The score was even after singles matches, with St. Albert taking the Number #1, Number #5, and Number #6 matches. For Atlantic, Lily Willrich, at Number #2, Shauna Anderson at Number #3, and Addie Freund, at Number #4, picked up wins.
The Saints won two of the three double matches to seal the win for the Saintes. O’Donovan/Narmi and Boswell/Ryan at Numbers #1 and #2, respectively, recorded wins. Dylin Ball and Taryn O’Brien picked up a victory for the Trojans at Number #3 doubles.
Atlantic Head Coach Mike McDermott told the team it would be close either way, and that is precisely how it turned out.
McDermott says in doubles, the Trojans picked up a good win for a couple of newcomers at Number #3, Dylin Ball and Taryn O’Brien.
