(Pocahontas Co) One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision in Pocahontas County Thursday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Highway 4 near 600th Street at 12:02 p.m. 31-year-old Darwin Benjamin Rosales Castillo, of Westminster, Colorado, was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza northbound and for unknown reasons he crossed the center line and struck a 2024 Ford Explorer head-on.
Darwin Benjamin Rosales Casillo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Explorer, 65-year-old Ronald Meyer of Pocahontas, suffered injuries in the accident, but the report does not indicate whether he was transported to the hospital.
