(Atlantic, Iowa) Katie Kennedy, an Iowa author and college professor, will be giving two presentations at the Atlantic Public Library on Tuesday, August 19. At 10:30 a.m., she’ll visit the VIP Connections group to discuss the U.S. Constitution.
According to the press release, Kennedy will talk about what is and isn’t covered in the document and answer questions as time allows. At 4 pm, she will speak about the U.S. Presidents. Both presentations are free and open to the public.
Kennedy has taught college history and American government for thirty years. She currently teaches in Iowa, where she lives with her husband and son. Kennedy has authored two nonfiction books for youth, drawing on her subject expertise: The Constitution Decoded: A Guide to the Document That Shapes Our Nation and Presidents Decoded: A Guide to the Leaders Who Shaped Our Nation. She has also authored three fiction books with more forthcoming.
The Atlantic Public Library connects the community to information, resources, and each other to spark ideas and new connections. The library plans to hold more events celebrating our nation’s history and our rights as citizens as we prepare for its 250th birthday in 2026.
