Kenneth Albert Fahn, son of Leonard and Alice (Shiltz) Fahn, was born on June 30, 1950 in Defiance, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Kenneth began his education at St. Michael’s Elementary School and went on to graduate from Harlan Community High School with the class of 1968.
Following graduation, Kenneth joined the United States Navy. He served from 1968 to 1972. He trained in San Diego before being stationed in Hawaii. Kenneth courageously served three tours in Vietnam in 1969, 1970, and 1971. He then went on to attend VA School from 1975 to 1977.
Kenneth found the love of his life when he met Stacey Tippett. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1976. To this union, three children were born: Zachary, Andrew, and Katherine. The family made their home on edge of Harlan, IA where Kenneth took over his father’s farming operation. He remained a farmer his entire life and never fully retired. His son Zachary and grandson Wyatt gradually took over the farming operation to keep the family business going.
Throughout his life, Kenneth remained an active member at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He served as a member of the church council and for many years as a lector. He was involved in other community organizations such as Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Kenneth had a few hobbies including riding his motorcycle, hunting, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and trips to Arizona to visit his daughter and attend Spring Training games.
Kenneth passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his home outside of Harlan, Iowa attaining the age of 75 years and 8 days, with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice Fahn and siblings, Pat Kenkel and Duane Fahn.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey Fahn of Harlan, IA; children, Zachary (Tamie) Fahn of Harlan, IA, Andrew Fahn of Plattsmouth, NE, Katherine (Nathan) Cline of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Wyatt Fahn, Cole Fahn, Harlee Fahn, Braden Cline, Grace Cline; siblings, Yvonne (David) Krueger of Omaha, NE, Edna (Ron) Odendahl of Carroll, IA, Joann (Larry) Mayes of Gig Harbor, WA, Keith (Debra) Fahn of Carroll, IA, Mary (Dan) D’Arcy of Harlan, IA, Peggy Thrasher of Omaha, NE, Randy (Cindy) Fahn of Council Bluffs, IA, and Jane (Kurt) Lamb of The Villages, FL; other relatives and many friends
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial donations be made to Shelby County Catholic School, or USS St. Paul Navy Association.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 14th, 2025 at 2:00pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, IA. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday July 13th, 2025 from 4;00PM to 6:00pm at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, IA. A rosary will be said at 6PM following the visitation at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, IA. Burial at the Harlan Cemetery.
