(Sioux City) Peyton McLaren tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Atlantic over Bishop-Heelan in Sioux City on Monday night. The sophomore allowed no runs on two hits, while striking out nine batters and walking one.
Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann says the Trojans got the bat on the ball a little bit, and managed to get one on the board when Zoey Kirchhoff singled, stole second base, moved to third on a ground out by Dylin Ball, and scored on Peyton McLaren’s sacrifice fly.
Atlantic extends its record to 22-11. The #12th-ranked Trojans in Class 3A host #4 ADM in Class 4A in a non-conference game at Atlantic tonight.
