(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC Baseball is doing what a lot of teams are doing this week — trying to adjust with the weather. The Chargers game on Monday night with West Central Valley was rained out and Head Coach Nick McCool says it likely will be made up this Saturday. Right now, the Chargers have improved their win total this season, going from 2 to 6 and McCool says they have improved in all areas — pitching, hitting and defense. On the mound, Senior Noah Kading has emerged as the team’s ace with a 1-2 record and 3.71 ERA in his four starts — he has 22 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched
With the bats, Junior Tommy Skram is leading with a .409 average and 10 RBI; Junior Chase Slaybaugh is hitting .340 but only 7 RBI. McCool says that is the problem — getting hits but not getting RBIs
Weather permitting, AC/GC will visit Woodward Granger tonight — the Chargers are 6-9 and the Hawks are 8-10 then its on to Earlham Thursday and the Cardinals are 8-10 so there chances for wins
AC/GC will host AHSTW in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, July 5. They host Madrid next Monday with coverage on KSOM.
