(Audubon, IA) — Audubon Baseball has gotten hot — last night the Wheelers won the 4th in a row in a 9-5 win over Riverside.
Dolly Parton must have been singing somewhere as Audubon scored in every inning but the 6th. Peyton Amdor for the Bulldogs struggled with his control and the Wheelers rolled to their 5th win of the season.
In the first inning, Brody Schultes reached on an error, stole 2nd, moved to third on a grounder and scored on a wild pitch. Audubon scored 3 more times in the 3rd — Gabe Jensen was hit by a pitch and 1 out later Adam Obrecht was hit by a pitch. Ryan Hermansen drove in one run with a RBI fielders choice and Obrecht and Hermansen would both score on wild pitches. In the 4th, Carson Wessel reached on an error, stole 2nd, went to 3rd on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch. Gabe Jensen walked with one out and his runner Jorgen Nowatzke would score on a RBI single from Hermansen.

The Wheelers added another run in the 5th on a RBI single by Aiden Kjergaard.
All of Riverside’s runs came with two outs — in the third inning, Owen Fenner scored Cole Jeppesen with a RBI double and Fenner score on a RBI single from Victor Alfonso. In the 5th, Kellan Oliver reached on an error and scored on a RBI single from Jeppesen. Fenner reached on an error that would score Jeppesen.
