(Atlantic) It’s round two for Atlantic and Glenwood in the Hawkeye Ten Conference Baseball Tonight. The Rams defeated the Trojans on May 29 with a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure a 7-6 victory. The Rams scored seven runs on seven hits, the Trojans six runs on seven hits.
Atlantic Co-Head Coach Nathan Block expects another competitive game between two teams hungry for wins. The Rams enter the contest with a (2-11) record. Atlantic is (1-9).
Coach Block says the Trojans’ record is not indicative of the team’s capabilities. Through the first ten games, the Trojans have lost by an average of 2.9 runs per contest.
Gavin McLaren is hitting .292, Grant Petty, .286, and Kale Jensen, .267, lead the Trojans at the plate. The team is currently hitting .211.
The Rams are hitting .233 as a team, with standouts. Freshman, Benn Christiansen leads the team with a .500 batting average, Ryan Turner, .343, and Ben Carlo is hitting .278.
