(Audubon) The Audubon Chamber of Commerce will officially disband on January 1. In a Facebook post, the Chamber announced that Chamber Bucks will be honored through December 31, 2025, but will no longer be accepted after that date.
This decision comes after the unexpected resignation of Chamber Director Mercedes Johnston on June 14, who stepped down for personal reasons. Shortly after, on June 27, the Chamber’s Board of Directors appointed Tiffany Wittrock as the new Chamber Director.
Following these changes, Chamber Board President Teresa Murray sought public input about the organization’s future. The Board posted a poll on the Chamber’s Facebook page, presenting three options for the community: hiring a new director, disbanding the Chamber and transitioning to a community club, or having board members take turns managing operations and duties during their three-year terms.
The chamber staff thanks the Audubon community for its support over the years.
