(Glenwood) The Mills County Sheriff’s Office had a busy night on Friday, December 13, as winter weather created hazardous driving conditions across the area. Freezing rain began falling around 5:00 p.m., quickly transforming county roads into a dangerous skating rink and making the evening commute perilous for drivers.
By the night’s end, the Sheriff’s Office had responded to approximately 60 calls for service related to vehicle accidents, slide-offs, disabled vehicles, and stranded motorists. Despite the high volume of incidents, the Sheriff’s Office reports that, fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
Authorities remind residents to use caution during winter weather events and stay informed of road conditions.
