(Anita) The CAM football team looks to bounce back this Friday night and secure the runner-up spot behind Fremont-Mills in 8-player District #10. The Knights are (5-0) in district play, CAM is (3-1), and East Mills is (4-2). The Cougars, (5-2), overall host (0-7) Stanton on Friday night.
CAM Head Coach Barry Bower says it starts with Stanton Quarterback Gavin Ford, who leads the team offensively with 629 yards passing, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Ford is also the leading rusher, with 59 carries for 301 yards.
Meanwhile, CAM is putting up some impressive numbers. Makade Paulsen has completed 54.5 percent of his passes for 733 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Paulsen has 810 rushing yards and leads the team with 55 tackles. Collin Bower is not far behind with 47.5 tackles, Kason Calhoun, 45, Brayden Chester, 44, and Keegan Croghan, 32. Coach Bower says the team hangs their hat on the defense.
Makade Paulsen leads 8-Player District #10 in numerous categories, including touchdowns with 29 and rushing touchdowns with 17. Paulsen is fourth in passing touchdowns with 12. Collin Bower is third in receiver touchdowns with 7. Bower leads all of District #10 with 17 tackles for loss. Keegan Croghan is tied for fourth with 11. Croghan is second in the kicking department with 20 touchbacks, the second-highest in the league.
